Hey! I'm So Glad You're Here. Lets talk hear a cool story!
I was born in Dominican Republic and moved to the United States at age 12. I attended grade school in the Winton Woods school district and graduated high school in 2013. Unsure of my academic plans after high school, I got a job a Meijer as a cashier. I've been with the company for seven years, lending a hand in the backroom/stocking department, sales floor shift supervisor and pharmacy department. In the spring of 2019, I decided to go back to school after a six year absence.

I've always admired UC; being a world class university here in my hometown, I applied and received admission into the exploratory program in the fall of 2019. My first semester of college was one of the most positive and fulfilling experiences of my lifetime. It was challenging juggling a part time job and full-time classes. But I learned to prioritize my school work above social media and socializing. Education can you far, but you must first embrace it as the sacred duty that it truly is.

I believe that a balanced schedule is key to a successful college career. Out of consideration for yourself, find clubs, organizations and hobbies that you can participate in order to build some degree of a social life with fellow students who you can identify with and share the college experience together. The independence factor of being a college can be intimidating so it is encouraged to that you make an effort to find your own community within the university.
